Save an Instagram Carousel Post Properly: Every Photo, Not Just the First
The useful part of a carousel is usually on slide 4. Wanna Try reads every photo in a multi photo Instagram post, up to 10, so the full list of places, prices and tips is saved.
"10 cafés in South Delhi you have to try." "7 day Kerala plan." "Best street food in Indore, slide for prices."
These carousel posts are some of the most useful things on Instagram, and the useful part is almost never the first slide. The first slide is the hook. The list is on slides 2 to 10.
When you bookmark a carousel in Instagram, you keep the post, but not what is inside it. Finding café number 6 later means opening the post and swiping again.
What Wanna Try does with a carousel
Share a carousel post to Wanna Try and it reads every photo, up to 10, not just the cover:
- The text written on each slide: names, areas, prices, timings.
- The caption, which often has the addresses.
- Then it puts it all together into one save with a clear title, a summary and key points, one place or tip per line.
So a "10 cafés" post becomes a save that actually lists the 10 cafés, which you can search later and ask about.
Split one post into many
A list post is really several places in one. When a save mentions two or more places, Wanna Try offers to split it, so each café or each stop becomes its own save. Then each one can show up near you, get its own reminder, and be marked tried on its own.
Search inside what the slides said
Because the text from every slide is saved, search works on it. Type "momos" and the carousel that mentioned momos on slide 7 shows up. Or ask: "Which places in that Hauz Khas carousel are open late?"
Tips for the best result
- Share the post itself, not a screenshot of one slide, so all slides can be read.
- If a post is private or Instagram does not let it be read, you can add a screenshot to the same save and Wanna Try reads that instead.
- Posts with clear text on the images give the best lists. Photos with no text are described in words, but names are never guessed.
More ways to keep reels useful
If you are new to organising your saves, start with How to organise your Instagram saved reels, then try a screenshot of a menu or a bill.
Save it before you forget it.
Wanna Try keeps the reels, links, bills and voice notes you want to act on, and brings them back when you can.
