From Saved to Tried: Why Your Tried Rate Matters More Than Your Saved Count

Most of us save hundreds of places and try a handful. Wanna Try tracks your tried rate and is built to raise it. Here is why that one number changes how you save.

Open your Instagram saved folder and count. Three hundred posts? Five hundred? Now count how many of those places you actually went to.

For most people the honest answer is under 5 percent. That gap between saving and doing is the whole reason Wanna Try exists.

The number that matters

On your Profile, Wanna Try shows three numbers:

  • Tried: things you actually did.
  • Planning: things with a day set.
  • Tried rate: tried, divided by everything you saved.

Saved count is easy to grow and means little. Tried rate is the one that tells you whether your saves are turning into real weekends, meals and trips.

How the app moves the number

Everything in Wanna Try is designed to push saves toward tried:

  1. It reads every save so it is findable later. A reel becomes a place, a recipe, a plan.
  2. It brings saves back at a good moment: a free weekend, nice weather, when you are nearby, or the day you planned. A few nudges a day at most, never a stream.
  3. It makes planning one tap. Set a day and you get a reminder that morning.
  4. It lets you ask. "What should I do this Saturday?" gets answered from your own saves.
  5. It celebrates tried. Mark something tried, give it a rating, and it moves out of the way so new ideas come up.

Mark it tried, every time

The habit that helps most is simple: when you go somewhere you saved, mark it tried. It takes two seconds, from the save itself or by telling Ask "I went to Big Chill, mark it tried, 5 stars".

Tried saves teach the app what you actually enjoy, so future nudges and answers get better. Your year also builds up in Your 2026, a recap of everything you tried.

Save less, try more

A few habits that raise the rate:

  • Save with intent. Before saving, think "would I actually go?"
  • Plan one thing a week. Pick one save each Monday and give it a day.
  • Clear what you will not do. Dismissing old saves you have lost interest in is progress too.
